Registration is limited, please register in advance to guarantee your spot. In order to receive 15 hours of PQAS credit upon completion of the course you are required to submit your PA PD Registry ID # at the time of registration.
Course Overview:
This course will continue the work started by the directors, books lists, vignettes, and lesson plans from the director’s version of the course. This course is self-paced and will require a 3 hour per week (5 week) time commitment 15 PQAS hours total.
This course will provide learners with a framework for becoming/practicing culturally responsive teachers. An assortment of topics that reflect cultural diversity in education, including an historical overview of programs for students from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds, contemporary multicultural and bilingual education, and education for social justice and equity are addressed. This course, through the use of varied literature, relating to issues of diversity will focus on strategies that will ensure all students are achieving their fullest potential. Gaining insights into the interconnection between the diversity of students and process of teaching will be critical to your continued success as a teacher in the 21st century classroom. Open to all ECE professionals (directors, teachers, assistants).
